Our belongings were shipped from the US and delivered in December. We had a couple of days still in the temporary apartment so we still had a place to sleep until our mattress/foundation was set up.
The company had asked if we had an elevator and we said yes. This sign showed up the day before our delivery. It was placed next to parking places on the street .
Despite the question about the elevator, the movers did not use the elevator to bring our stuff up to the 6th floor. They parked a truck with an elevator-lift/ladder on it under our balcony and used that to bring our stuff to the balcony and into the apartment from the outside, through the balcony double doors.
I've not seen anything like this before. It went very quickly- only 1.5 hours to bring everything up.
The delivery folks arrived at about 7:30 am and it was still dark. These are the best photos we got of the delivery system. They are just raising the ladder. The ladder came all the way up to our floor and there was a flat shelf that rode up on the ladder with boxes stacked on it. They would then lower the shelf back down to the street. They covered the balcony railing with blankets.
There were a few things that weren't boxed, they were just wrapped in paper or bubble wrap. One of the first things off the truck! A chair! Finally something to sit on!
A couple of folding tables...The opening of boxes has began... .
