Our long weekend in Bali- Our arrival and the Hotel

Last weekend we were able to travel to Bali. This short week after our return has been extremely busy and kept me from updating our story. Jakarta is on the western edge of the island of Java and Bali is between Java and Lombok. Look in the red circle.

On arrival, we were presented with frangipani blossom necklaces to wear. We both wore them all day but soon became overdosed on the aroma. We didn't want to offend our guide, Adi, so we left them on all day. We also learned that frangipani comes in 3 varieties: red, white and yellow. Ours were yellow.

What a hotel. Our hotel was gorgeous. Individual villas with an air conditioned building containing the bedroom and bathroom.

Across a courtyard was an open-air dining room and living room.

We had our own private plunge pool with a fountain and there was even an outdoor shower in addition to the one indoors.

We had a "keep the mosquitoes out" canopy.
